No. A 2015 city study of its commercial spine identified sixteen properties with real cultural-heritage value, later added to Toronto's Heritage Register, a genuine form of recognition, just a lighter one than a heritage district carries. A listed property gets a 60-day notice period before demolition; it doesn't carry the same permit process as a designated one. We'll always tell a homeowner plainly which tier their property actually sits in, rather than letting the two blur together.
